See a Sneak Preview of Notorious B.I.G. Word Up! Magazine Special, With Essay by Angie Martine

Ahead of next years 30th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.s legendary debut album Ready to Die, the late rappers estate, in collaboration with Budweiser, is dropping the first of two limited editions of the iconic Word Up! magazine which, of course, is name-dropped in the albums hit single, Juicy on September 13.

Ahead of next year’s 30th anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.’s legendary debut album “Ready to Die,” the late rapper’s estate, in collaboration with Budweiser, is dropping the first of two limited editions of the iconic Word Up! magazine — which, of course, is name-dropped in the album’s hit single, “Juicy” — on September 13.

The magazine will feature handwritten lyrics, “untold” stories and rare photos provided by Biggie’s estate, and exclusive content contributed by his closest family and friends — including a long, loving letter to Big by his friend, legendary New York radio DJ Angie Martinez, which you can read below.

The print edition also includes a collectible pull-out poster that features Barron Claiborne’s iconic “King of New York” photo, an homage to magazines of the past and the tradition of plastering Word Up! posters on bedroom walls.

On September 13, the first of two special editions of Word Up! Magazine will feature excerpts contributed by Biggie’s closest family, friends and fans, also including his mother, Ms. Voletta Wallace; his children T’yanna and C.J. Wallace; and journalists Elliott Wilson and Gerrie Summers.    

Starting September 13, consumers 21+ can view selects from the magazine by visiting us.Budweiser.com/ItWasAllADream, and will have an opportunity to get their hands on one of 5,000 collectible copies in select markets across the country including New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Chicago.

For those who miss the first print edition on September 13, a deluxe edition will drop on September 28. The extended tribute will feature additional content from Biggie’s closest friends and inner circle, including letters from Lil’ Cease, Wayne Barrow, Mark Pitts and D-Roc.
