Charlamagne Tha God has been a legend of the radio space for a long time. Overall, most fans know him for his work on The Breakfast Club. However, he has worked in radio with the likes of Wendy Williams, and he even has his own podcasts. Of course, The Breakfast Club remains a vital part of hip-hop culture. It used to consist of Charlamagne, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee. Now, however, Angela Yee is no longer on the shoe. She announced her departure back in August of last year, which subsequently led to rumors of drama behind the scenes.

Although, as Yee has stated time and time again, this was a move that just made sense for her career. Now, she hosts her very own show, and fans continue to tune in. As for Charlamagne Tha God, he got to speak about Yee's departure during an interview with DJ Vlad. Overall, Charlamagne was quite honest about what went down. Based on his explanation, it had nothing to do with their dynamic. Instead, it was simply due to Angela Yee wanting to enjoy a new opportunity on her own.

Charlamagne Tha God Speaks

“I think people want it to be something salacious, but it’s not,” Charlamagne Tha God explained. “She left Breakfast Club because she got the opportunity to do her own nationally syndicated show. Way Up With Angela Yee is a nationally syndicated show it comes on 10 am to 2pm right after The Breakfast Club, and I think that would be hard for anybody to pass up … Angela Yee never got the opportunity to host her own show on terrestrial radio.”

When shows break up, these rumors typically follow. Although it is not always fair, it is most certainly the nature of the business. Either way, it is good to see Charlamagne sticking up for his former co-host. You can clearly tell that there is still a lot of love there.
